The recently concluded architecture festival in Singapore, Archifest 2018, saw over 150,000 visitors participating in the various events at the Festival Pavilion and around the island. Datacom, New Zealand’s largest IT service provider, has a new home in the heart of Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter’s Innovation Precinct. The new building successfully weaved green efficiencies into high-tech office design to create a truly modern and sustainable workplace for its 1,200 staff, who is now housed within the same office building for the first time.
Without the intermittent school chimes and the sound of children emitting from within the cocoon-shaped structure in Sengkang Riverside Park, one would easily mistake the 4,000 square metres complex to simply be an architectural work of art. Look within and you will find that this complex is home to School4Kidz Preschool, the largest childcare centre to be located within a public park in Singapore, and the first collaboration between the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) and the National Parks Board (NParks).
