Specifications

To provide the green wall system to erect green walls on four pillar walls at the pool deck of the condominium.

To provide the pedestal system to support granite pavers at children’s splash and play area.

Solution

VersiWall® GP Green Wall

VGP Trays were mounted onto welded wire mesh secured onto four wall pillars of the shelter fronting the swimming pool at the pool deck for this project.

VGP Baffle Plates and Reservoir Covers were inserted into the individual trays on-site and planting of pre-selected plants for the wall were carried out in-situ. The desired flow and pattern of the living walls was easily achieved by hanging the planted trays onto the welded wire mesh according to the predetermined green wall design. To prevent inadvertent dislodgment of the VGP Trays from the wire mesh Anti-lift Arms were inserted into the VGP Tray hooks, locking the trays to the mesh.

The simplicity and ease of assembly of the system allowed the erection of the VGP green walls in minimal time.

VersiJack®
VersiJack® pedestals are easy to install and are height and slope adjustable to achieve a firm and level paver surface. Services – including the cabling and pump system for the water jets hidden below, remain readily accessible for maintenance when required. Spacer tabs were used on the pedestals to maintain uniform gaps between pavers that allow water from the fountain to freely drain away. The raised pavers also eliminate formation of efflorescence and algae growth on the pavers.

Days Hotel

Location

1 Jalan Rajah, Singapore

Specifications

To provide the pedestal system for installation of pavers at the E-Deck and for the installation of composite wood decking at ground-level perimeter corridors of the building and pathways.

Solution

VersiJack pedestals were used to support heavy stone pavers measuring 600mm x 600mm x 50mm at the E-Deck and both SpiraPave and VersiJack pedestals were used in the installation of wooden decking. Use of slope correctors on the pedestals at inclined areas allowed adjustments of up to 5% to maintain a level paver surface, while the use of Elmich Spacer Tabs enabled consistent gaps between the pavers for water drainage.
Water drains away quickly either through the gaps maintained between the pavers or between the decking panels keeping these areas dry. This enables hotel guests and visitors to safely enjoy the hotel’s facilities and also appreciate the peace and serenity of the adjacent park.
Located beside the culturally inspired Zhongshan Park at Balestier, the “hotel-by-the-park” managed by the world’s largest and most diverse hotel company, the Wyndham Hotel Group, caters to both value-conscious business as well as leisure travellers.

Water-Play Fountain @ Clarke Quay

Location

Clarke Quay, River Valley Road, Singapore

Specifications

To provide the pedestal system to support pavers of water-play fountain at the focal point of Clarke Quay where four blocks of restored conservation warehouses converge.

Solution

Beneath the pavers, invisible to all, 500 VersiJack height and slope adjustable pedestals perform a crucial supporting role to make the water-play fountain possible at Clarke Quay.

A constant 4mm gap between pavers maintained by Spacer Tabs mounted on the pedestal tops allowed water issuing from the fountain spouts to seemingly disappear upon coming into contact with the paver surface, keeping areas beyond the boundaries of the raised paver area completely dry. The pump mechanism and required cabling for the pump as well as lighting are safely and unobtrusively hidden in the void space created beneath the raised pavers.

At dusk when the fountain comes alive with lights and colour, the easily identifiable water-play fountain, where the passageways of four blocks of the restored conservation warehouses at Clarke Quay converge, becomes a focal point for visitors to this historical riverside festival village dedicated to good times. Combining dining, shopping and the conservation of historical heritage, it is where Singaporeans and tourists alike can experience Singapore’s nightlife, enjoy a night out, and at the same time, take-in Singapore’s commercial history along the Singapore River.

The Singapore River became the centre of trade after the founding of Singapore in 1819. During the colonial era, Boat Quay, nearer the river mouth, was the commercial centre where barge lighters (bumboats) would transport goods upstream along the Singapore River to warehouses at Clarke Quay. At the height of its prosperity, dozens of bumboats would jostle for mooring space beside Clarke Quay, with the practice continuing well into the later half of the 20th century.

As part of conservation of buildings with historical significance in Singapore, and taking cognizance of the historical value of Clarke Quay, the warehouses at Clarke Quay were restored, preserving the historical character of the area. The warehouses now house various restaurants and nightclubs and a number of now defunct Chinese junks (tongkangs) and bumboats moored bankside along the Singapore River have been refurbished into floating pubs and restaurants, making Clarke Quay a unique hub of Singaporean nightclubs. Clarke Quay is also an access and drop-off point for river cruises and river taxis on the Singapore River.

Specifications

To provide paver support and conceal services in a reflective pool feature at the front façade of the residential bungalow.

Solution

VersiPave® pedestals with height raised with 2 extenders were positioned in the shallow side of the pool. National Heart Centre Singapore

Location

Hospital Drive, Singapore General Hospital

Specifications

To provide support for installation of pavers
To provide sub-surface drainage modules to facilitate efficient drainage in planter boxes

Solution

VersiJack®
VersiJack® pedestals were extended to appropriate heights and positioned directly over the floor slab to support heavy 600 x 600 x 50mm pavers. A screw-adjust and an integrated locking ring system allowed easy height adjustments and confirmed heights to be secured. Slope Correctors allowed compensation for any slope to fall in the floor slab to facilitate drainage beneath the raised pavers whilst Spacer Tabs enabled constant gaps to be maintained between the pavers. Rubber shims were placed over the Spacer Tabs on the pedestal tops both to make minor height adjustments and provide insulation to reduce vibration and sound transfer. The raised pavers create attractive safe, dry and level open spaces and pathways at the hospital’s landscaped sky gardens.
VersiCell®
VersiCell® sub-surface drainage modules were installed at the base and also the sides of planter boxes at the sky gardens. Healthy plant growth is sustained by providing the necessary drainage to prevent waterlogging and ponding in the planter boxes. A geotextile was laid over the modules and 100mm of sand placed on top before infill of approved soil media for planting.
The planter boxes and paved open areas and pathways in the sky gardens create a greener and cooler new heart centre with a therapeutic environment.
