4,400 sq m of metal rooftops atop the new wings of the hospital’s Women’s Tower and Children’s Tower added in recent A&A works were converted into green spaces, offering green respite to patients, and visitors at the KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

Elmich Extensive Green Roof system installed on these rooftops offer visually appealing and therapeutic views to patients, visitors and hospital staff alike.

Aside from its aesthetic benefits, the living roof acts as a sun screen that helps to reduce heat absorption by the roof and reduce internal temperature of the wards keeping air conditioning requirements down. It also lowers ambient temperature of the immediate surroundings and helps to mitigate urban heat island effect.
