Elmich Landscape Roof totalling 1,500 sq m converted the concrete rooftops of the Stephen Riady Centre within the National University of Singapore (NUS) University Town (Utown) into eco-friendly living roofs.
The green roofs have been instrumental in the building clinching the BCA Green Mark Platinum Award in 2012. This in turn contributed to greater achievements such as the Green Mark GoldPlus for Districts Award and the ultimate BCA Green Mark Champion Award being conferred on Utown and NUS respectively.
Eurathane 1200 SPE, a plural component spray-on root-resistant waterproofing membrane was applied onto the roof as well as within the planter boxes where Elmich VersiCell® was installed for installation of the Landscape Roof.
Designed with spaces to extend learning beyond the classrooms, the landscape roof encourages discussions to spill over from lecture halls and seminar rooms into green informal learning spaces.
