Green Thumbs 2016 was held on Saturday, 24 September at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. The park was buzzing with activity and excitement from morning to evening with its truckload of activities. Mr Desmond Lee, Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and National Development was at the event announcing a funding boost of $5.6 million over the next four years for Singapore’s landscape industry.

Elmich was a gold sponsor of this event and had a booth set up as well, with games and a brand new product, Octopus Anchor (invisible tree support) and StrataVault® (RootCell®) on display.

Throughout the day, participants took part in competitions and games such as cricket, soccer and tug of war. There was also the anticipated Singapore Tree Climbing Championship  as well as the highlight of the entire event, the 10 Skills Competition with a participation of about 200 workers and students.

In the Vertical Edible Farming segment, participants used VersiWall® GP to design their very own green wall. Mr. Martin Toh, Managing Director of Elmich presented the awards to the winning teams.

The park was filled with happy faces as the visitors participated actively and won awards.
