Fleximent®

What is Fleximent®

Fleximent® 201 is a two-component, polymer-modified flexible cementitious waterproofing coating that cures by pozzolanic reaction. Fleximent® 201 meets the Singapore Standard SS375 for direct contact with potable water and is Singapore Green Label certified. Fleximent® 201 provides excellent adhesion strength for plastering and subsequent tiling works, making it suitable for wet areas.

Fleximent® 202 is a two-component, cementitious waterproof slurry comprising of a proprietary synthetic resin dispersion and a blend of selected cement and graded fillers. Once cured, the coating allows entrapped water vapour to escape but yet remain impermeable to water.

  • Toilets, kitchens, pantries, refuse collection points and M&E rooms etc.
  • Wet areas such as swimming pools, water features, ponds etc.
  • Floors, walls, water retaining structures and planter boxes
  • Flexible cementitious coating
  • Adheres to most surfaces
  • Fills hairline cracks
  • Excellent resistance to wear, weather, abrasion
  • Effective waterproof coating for floors, walls, water retaining structures and planter boxes
  • Allows entrapped water vapour to escape but remains impermeable to water
  • Protects against aggressive soils and contaminated ground water
  • Can be applied onto surfaces in contact with potable water and damp surfaces
  • Contains no chlorine and salts that cause corrosion and efflorescence
  • Resistant to frost and thawing salts
  • Non-polluting of drinking water
  • Meets BS 6920:90 and SS 375:94 requirements
  • Green label

Fleximent® 201

Fleximent® 201 acts as an effective waterproof coating for floors, walls, water retaining structures and planter boxes. Fleximent® 201 may be applied onto surfaces in contact with potable water and damp surfaces. It contains no chlorine and salts that cause corrosion and efflorescence and is resistant to frost and thawing salts.

Fleximent® 202

Fleximent® 202 acts as an effective waterproof slurry for floors, walls, and water retaining structures. Fleximent® 202 may be applied onto surfaces in contact with damp surfaces. It contains no chlorine and salts that may cause corrosion and efflorescence, and is resistant to frost and thawing salts.

Surface Preparation
The substrates must be wood trowelled smooth, clean and sound, free of dust, loose particles. Cement laitance, oil grease mould release oil or curing compounds must be removed from concrete surfaces by using wire brush, brush hammer, scabbler, grit blasting or other means.

All substrates must be dampened with water prior to application of Fleximent® 201.

Material Mixing
Pour Part A (liquid) into a clean container and stir/mix with a low speed drill fitted with a purpose made paddle. Pour Part B (powder) slowly into Part A taking care to mix thoroughly until homogeneous and lump-free.

Application
For horizontal and vertical surfaces, a squeegee, roller or broad brush may be used to apply the slurry. Care must be taken to ensure that air is not entrapped in the membrane.

Apply with brush to joints and corners ensuring that areas are worked well into and allow curing to set for approximately an hour (depending on concrete substrate) before application of second coat.

General floor area application is approximately 1.2 mm thick, applied in two coats.

Curing and Protection
Normal concreting procedures should be strictly adhered to. For horizontal areas where the membrane may be subjected to heavy abrasion or tearing, the membrane should be protected with a screed topping.

Fleximent® 202

Surfaces should be clean, free from honeycombs, voids, dirt, loose material, paint, oil, curing agents or other contaminants.

Prior to application, dampen substrate with a brush or roller.
a. Pour Part A (liquid) into a clean container.
b. Pour Part B (powder) slowly into Part A.
c. Mix with a low speed drill fitted with purpose-made paddle.
d. Ensure that mix is homogeneous and lump-free.

Apply Fleximent® 202 by squeegee, roller, or brush to horizontal and vertical surfaces. Ensure that air is not entrapped in the membrane. Apply slurry with a brush at joints and corners, ensuring that areas are worked and covered well. Allow curing to take place completely before applying second coat.

Protect freshly applied surfaces from strong sunlight and wind with a polyethylene sheet. Cover Fleximent® 202 with protective screed as soon as possible once cured. Exercise care to prevent damage to waterproofing during subsequent construction work prior to laying of protection screed.

Apply Fleximent® 202 in 2 coats at 1.0 kg – 1.1 kg per sq.m. per coat for final dry film thickness of approximately 1.2 mm.
