The seminar addressed the Addendum to the Public Utilities Board (PUB) code of practice on surface water drainage published in June 2013 in which the maximum allowable peak runoff from a development discharged to public drains was specified and also the various options available to meet the new requirements and how designs may be impacted.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Andy Chew, Director (Business Development) and ABC Waters Professional at Elmich Pte Ltd, together with Dr. Stephen Tan, Associate Director (Water &amp; Urban Development) AECOM Singapore Pte Ltd with many years of experience in water resources engineering from hydrology, hydraulics to water quality, provided the architects in attendance with global insights into the new Code of Practice and took them through the recommended ABC water design features proposed in the code as well as implementation solutions for compliance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Andy Chew shed light on the various systems currently available in the market which include runoff retention and detention methods and strategies to mitigate, control and manage stormwater at source. They encompass features like underground infiltration and retention tank systems, bioswales, rain gardens, green roofs, green walls, and also permeable paving, all of which use products developed, manufactured and supplied by Elmich as their base or principal component.
