The “green” of Elmich Green Roof and Elmich VGM® Green Wall proudly grace the new South Wing of the Temasek Polytechnic. The green roof carpets almost the entire roof of the new wing except for a section occupied by Photovoltaic cell panels whilst the living wall encompasses both the broad-fronts of the building facade, effectively enveloping the new building in living “green”. The Living Roof and Living Wall played a major part in helping the Temasek Polytechnic’s new South Wing to clinch the BCA Green Mark for Buildings ( New Non-Residential Buildings ) Platinum Award 2012.
Together the green roof and green wall are part of the Polytechnic’s pledge to “bring education to life and life to education“, creating a conducive learning environment and simultaneously showcasing the Polytechnic’s continuous effort to be eco-friendly and sustainable.
Temasek Polytechnic has a 30 hectare campus and more than 1,200 academic and administrative staff catering to approximately 15,000 full-time students. Reputed for its academic programmes, applied research, managerial excellence and innovative corporate culture, the Polytechnic prepares school-leavers and working adults for a future of dynamic change, with relevant knowledge, life-long skills, character, and a thirst for continuous improvement.
