To provide support for pavers with 40 mm thickness weighing approximately 90 kg each and eliminate formation of efflorescence over the 80 m long bridge.

Solution

VersiJack slope and height adjustable pedestals were positioned on the bridge to support heavy pavers eliminating the need for heavy sand and mortar beds and problems associated with efflorescence and differential expansion between the steel bridge and pavers. Raised pavers facilitate rapid drainage and allow electrical services to be concealed.

To provide efficient drainage and void filler in deep planter boxes.

Solution

VersiTank were assembled and positioned over the waterproofing membrane in the deep planter boxes providing an insulation layer protecting the membrane. A geotextile filter fabric layer was then installed over the tanks and planting media placed in the planter boxes above the geotextile. VersiTank acts as a drainage cell with large internal void as well as a void filler to reduce the volume of planting media required to fill the deep planter boxes. VersiTank has high compressive strength and is able to resist the combine weight of the planting media and the large trees installed in the planter boxes.

To provide tank facility for converting existing swimming pool into underground water storage tank for collecting and retaining stormwater for re-use.

Solution

The swimming pool is lined with a geotextile fabric and 2 layers of VersiTank positioned on top filling the entire pool area. Thereafter the installed VersiTank units were enveloped with geotextile fabric and covered with coarse sand and topped with planting soil. Subsequent planting on top conceals the underground water collection and storage tank and converts the pool area into additional garden space.

Solution

A pit was excavated large enough to accommodate the calculated number of VersiTank to be installed. The base of the pit was compacted and levelled with a layer of coarse sand and a liner installed forming an impermeable tank within which assembled VersiTank units were positioned. Piping for inlet, outlet and overflow points were installed. Thereafter the installed VersiTank units were enveloped with a permeable geotextile fabric and covered with coarse sand and topped with planting soil. Planting on top makes the stormwater collection tank completely invisible and high compressive strength allows the space on top to be trafficable so that surface garden space is not compromised.

To provide efficient drainage under 10,000 m2 of landscaped areas positioned over underground parking areas, to withstand the weight of onsite mechanical equipment, during the installation of soil mix and to bear the weight of large tree plantings.

Solution

VersiCell interlocking panels were positioned directly onto the waterproofing membrane, providing membrane protection and covered with geotextile. Planting media was positioned on the geotextile and turf and plant species installed. VersiCell, unlike cuspated drainage sheets, when covered with a minimum 100mm of soil mix, withstands the weight of bobcats and other mechanical equipment during the installation of soil mix. VersiCell also resists the weight of large newly established and mature tree species. VersiCell is three times more efficient than dimpled drainage sheets in capturing and transporting sub-surface water and does not suffer from severe restriction, caused by geotextile sagging between dimples, in cuspated drainage sheets.

VersiCell 1m2 panels were interlocked and positioned on the waterproofing membrane. Pebble stones were then placed directly on to the installed VersiCell panels to a depth of 50mm creating a decorative protective shield insulating the waterproofing membrane against UV exposure and helping to control temperature extremes.
