Solution

Gardens by the Bay consists of three distinct waterfront gardens – Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central, set in the heart of Singapore’s new downtown Marina Bay, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir.
Spanning 101 hectares, Gardens by the Bay is an integral part of a strategic plan to transform Singapore from a ‘Garden City’ to a ‘City in a Garden’. The aim is to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city. The Gardens have been designed with the environment in mind, adopting environmentally sustainable technologies and is intended to be a statement in sustainable engineering and energy efficiency.
VersiCell® modules were installed at the base of the planter boxes above the underground car park to provide sub-surface drainage. The fully mature luscious trees and shrubs form a green horse-shoe shaped curtain surrounding the central coach and bus parking area above the underground car park.
The Flower Dome is the larger of the two conservatories at the Gardens, at 1.2 hectares. It replicates cool dry conditions and features permanent displays of plants found in the Mediterranean and semi-arid tropical regions. There is also a display field to enable flower shows and non-permanent displays to be exhibited within the Conservatory.
VersiWeb® slope stabilisation webs installed over the perimeter slopes of the Flower Dome serve as slope stabilisers and also provide media containment to make planting on the steep slopes possible.
