What is Bitulen® 180

Bitulen® 180 is a non-woven polyester reinforced atactic-polypropylene polymers (APP) modified bitumen torch-on waterproofing membrane for new or re-roofing applications.

All surfaces shall be smooth, free from dust or loose materials and dry.

All surfaces shall be primed with an appropriate primer and allowed to dry tack-free.

The membrane shall be unrolled lengthwise to fall and for subsequent rolls, it shall be adjusted and aligned to provide a minimum 100 mm lap joint.

The membrane shall be rolled back and unrolled with the full flaming on the underside to provide full bonding of the membrane to the primed substrate.

Detailing at upturns, pipe penetrations and outlets shall be as per manufacturer’s recommendation.

The membrane on the floor shall be continued up the wall and parapet at least 300 mm high.

Care shall be taken so as not to damage the membrane after installation. The membrane shall be protected immediately after installation.
