To provide modular green wall system to install a green wall to form a shielding barrier around services at the condominium cum shopping mall.
Solution
Pre-planted Vertical Greening Modules (VGM®) were mounted on stainless steel pilasters bolted to a metal framework erected around the services. The living wall installed using the Elmich VGM Green Wall system surrounds the services effectively keeping them from public view and also reducing noise transference. From the road that runs alongside the development only an attractive green wall is visible.
Each VGM® contains a geotextile bag filled with a primarily inorganic lightweight planting media. The modular green wall system enables easy mounting and dismounting of VGMs during installation and maintenance. Anti-lift arms were inserted in between modules to prevent accidental dislodgement of VGMs from the wall. An automated irrigation system delivers water and nutrients directly to plant roots at pre-determined intervals to ensure healthy plant growth.
